Description

This Cinnamon Poke Cake is a deliciously moist cake made with yellow cake mix and topped with a creamy cinnamon filling and glaze.


Ingredients

  • 15 ounces yellow cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the yellow cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water until smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 28 to 32 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  4. Let the cake cool for 5 minutes, then use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the top.
  5. In a medium bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and melted butter until smooth.
  6. Slowly pour the cinnamon mixture over the warm cake, making sure it flows into the holes.
  7. Let the cake cool completely so the filling settles and the texture stays soft.
  8. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  9. Drizzle the glaze all over the cooled cake.
  10. Slice and serve at room temperature or chilled.
