Description

A delicious combination of seared beef steak and cheese-filled tortellini tossed in a garlic butter sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 9 oz cheese-filled tortellini
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Cook the tortellini. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the cheese-filled tortellini and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside. While that’s going, you can prep your steak.
  2. Sear the steak. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the steak pieces with salt, pepper, and a pinch of Italian seasoning. Once the oil is hot, sear the steak pieces for 2–3 minutes on each side or until browned and cooked to your liking. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside, keeping any browned bits in the pan.
  3. Make the garlic butter sauce. In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium. Add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and butter. Once melted, stir in the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant—about 1 minute. Add the beef broth and the rest of the Italian seasoning. Scrape up all the flavorful bits from the bottom of the pan.
  4. Combine everything. Return the cooked tortellini and seared steak to the skillet. Toss to coat in the garlic butter sauce. Let everything simmer together for 2–3 minutes so the flavors can meld beautifully.
  5. Garnish and serve. Top with chopped fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve hot, straight from the skillet for a rustic, family-style presentation.

Notes

  • Ensure the steak is cut into even pieces for uniform cooking.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste based on preference.
  • For more flavor, consider marinating the steak before cooking.
