Description

Delicious and juicy burgers topped with sautéed mushrooms and Swiss cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80% lean)
  • 8 oz fresh button or cremini mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter (for toasting buns)

Instructions

  1. Finely chop the mushrooms and season the ground beef with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Sauté the mushrooms in a skillet with 1 tbsp of butter over medium heat until golden brown (5-7 minutes).
  3. Shape the seasoned beef into four patties slightly larger than your buns, creating an indentation in the center of each.
  4. Preheat your grill or skillet to medium-high heat. Cook each patty for about 4-5 minutes per side or until desired doneness.
  5. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty and cover until melted.
  6. Spread remaining butter on each bun half and toast them on the grill until golden brown.
  7. Assemble your burger with patties and sautéed mushrooms on toasted buns.
